Comments about Audioengine D1 24-Bit Digital to Analog Converter:
First time I've used a DAC and the buzz around the internet was this little thing from Audioengine. It really sounds great and the design is so simple and functional. It super loud if you have headphones with low impedance. I used it with Audiotechnica ATH-50S and they sound excellent, very clear and very hard on the bass. But than, I popped in my Beyerdynamic DT 990 (600 Ohms version) and it barely made a dent. So I was a little disappointed there, but than again it takes another kind of beast to run the 990's.
So I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for great sound for a very reasonable price. It's almost cheap considering the quality and what it could do.
