MovieRecorder Express from Softron is video recording software. It captures and saves video files permanently, or automatically deletes them after a designated time period of your choice. MovieRecorder is an ideal tool for compliance recording via FireWire (HDV / DV). If you have a legal obligation to keep a log of what videos your channel has broadcast, this software will prove a trusty aid to you. It performs real-time H.264 encoding upon ingest. To run MovieRecorder, you need a Mac mini, MacPro, iMac 2009 or MacBook Pro plus a FireWire converter, or a camera. You can add optional MultiChannel capability (not included), giving you the power to record up to 4 channels on a single Mac.

Record one or more video signals on your Mac. Multiple signals require optional MultiChannel capability (not included)
Choose to automatically create chunks of video every 1, 2, 4, 6 or 12 hours
Select automatic file deletion every hour, day, week or month, or choose to never have files removed
Manual switching to next video clip
An energy-efficient tool, it can run on a simple Mac mini
After recording, you can automatically archive video clips to a second destination for backup
Supports FireWire devices only (in DV, HDV or DVCPro HD)
Simultaneously record a compressed (H264) and native (DV, HDV or DVCPro HD) file
Up to 2 ingests on a single Mac without any extra hardware. Up to 4 ingests on a single Mac with an additional FireWire Bus with PCI FireWire card (not included)
In order to keep Open GL active, you must connect a monitor to the DVI or mini DisplayPort / Thunderbolt port
