The 8 TB StorCenter px12-350r Network Storage Array from Iomega is an ideal network storage solution and data protection option for small-to-medium-sized businesses. It is apt for production data stores, server virtualization, backup-to-disk target and video surveillance. Powered by enterprise-class EME storage technology, the high performance px12-350r is easy to use, manage and afford.
Its other features include device-to-device data replication to ensure data integrity at both the source and the replication target and businesses will appreciate extremely high throughput with quad-Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and an Intel Core2 Duo Processor, plus link aggregation (port bonding) and the option of solid state drives.

Buying a big storage NAS has given me ample scope to expand my business. I did not mind the cost because I knew that at one point of time the NAS can be used to its fullest potential. The 2U rackmountable form factor is a great way to save on space. A functionally well-built storage device that offers a blend of both NAS and iSCSI data sharing.
Apart from this there are umpteen number of business class apps that are thrown into this NAS that makes it appealing. This high end business class NAS is a well conceived device that is priced reasonably.

Business challenges are the same, be it big or small and hence I decided to go for a high capacity NAS array with lots of features. I zeroed in on the StorCenter px12-350r NAS array. Despite my budget constraints I decided to go for the it because I knew that it would be beneficial in the long run and it proved right. The px12 helps me to manage increasing levels of data complexity.
The px12-350r though may sound a bit complex but there is nothing complicated about the device. The NAS is simple to operate and comes with extensive features.

Though my StorCenter px12-350r came with 8TB storage space, it can be increased up to 36TB in a single array and comes with a flexibility of solid state drives as speed is what matters. I was happy with SATA drives as space is what matter for me. I would call the px12-350r the best business class storage device that takes care of data security as well.
The Personal cloud capabilities help in sharing data via the cloud irrespective of location. The feather in the cap of the px12-350r is that it natively supports Avamar deduplicating backup that is not available in most top of the rack network storage arrays.

I will rate this 8 out of 10 when you look at value for money and for its simple to operate technique, service backup from EMC and number of other features that make the px12-350r a good NAS server to buy, Unlimited data protection capabilities like multiple RAID 1, 10, 5, 6 that comes with hot spare, hot swap, automatic RAID rebuild, it flexibility to support NAS, SAN, DAS, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS and AFP is a great combination. The px series has increased the user range drastically. The px12 can accommodate more than 200 users making it suitable for medium business environment as well.

There is no doubt that the 350 rackmount device will perform better than its predecessor 300r and that's the one reason why I bought this device. The px12-350r is faster with 7200 rpm and promises more functions. The device can be fitted with a maximum of 3TB disks in the 12 bays which means a storage capacity of 36TB maximum. There is also an option to change to Solid State Drives if performance matters, but I preferred SATA disks.
The Iomega StorCenter px12-350r supports SCSI3 persistent reservations which I found to be of great advantage as it supports many clustered server operating systems.

The latest in the rackmount model is the Iomega StorCenter px12-350r Network storage device. I would call it a transition from home network devices to enterprise network devices. The px12-350r is designed using 2U rackmountable form factor. My NAS appliance came loaded with four 2TB drives which provides around 8TB of storage space. The Intel core 2 duo processor and four gigabit ethernet connectivity ensure that the performance of the NAS device is high. The 12 Axis IP security cameras allow me to store digital videos in a centralized location for easy retrieval.
No more looking for storage space to store my video cassettes and CDs. With this I am able to access the videos anytime, wherever I go with the help of a web browser.

The product arrived safely packed and I installed the device right away. It has been two months since the px12-350r is with me and so far no hassles what so ever. I would call it a multipurpose device with an option to back up to a remote branch incase of disaster. This ensures that my data remains safe all the time.
Using the remote access I am able to provide access permissions to my branch locations so that they can share my files. Work has become a pleasure.
