The Tiltpod Mini Magnet Camera Support for Compact Digital Cameras gives you a new and improved way to take nice, sharp pictures with your compact digital camera. The Tiltpod provides a small (2 x 1.5 x 0.4"/5.08 x 3.81 x 1.01 cm), lightweight (0.25 oz/7.08 g) base that's carried on the included camera wrist strap and has an internal high-strength magnet. A tiny stainless steel rounded pivot point attaches to the bottom of the camera. When the pivot point is placed in contact with the base, the magnet holds the camera steady, but the camera can still be tilted or swiveled to the desired position.
The small base has a grippy bottom so that it can be placed on an inclined surface and still hold the camera solidly. Instead of carrying a tripod, you carry nothing but a tiny platform that stays right on the wrist strap so that it's always available for long exposure shots, self-portraits, and low-light photos.

This is a simple idea, well executed. I'm using it with a Canon G9 compact, which isn't the lightest body around.
The package comes with the flat support stand and one magnet for a centered tripod socket and another for off-centered tripod holes. The socket magnet screws in smoothly and attaches to the magnet on the stand with a resounding snap. The camera is secure and stable. I use it for group photos around a table and I recommend using a camera's 2-sec timer to ensure no body movement from pressing the shutter button.
Not all cameras have centered tripod mounts, which makes the magnet with adhesive a thoughtful inclusion. You will want the body centered over the stand for best stability. The manufacturer warns that the adhesive magnet is for one use only. If you have multiple cameras, choose wisely.
The only enhancement I would like to see is some way to secure a camera to the stand while oriented vertically. Difficult, with a plastic body.

Great concept. May not be ideal for every user. Small magnet in the stand attaches to one of two steel plates that attach to the camera - one that screws into the tripod hole, the other attaches with a one-use adhesive stip. Attached the screw option to my Canon PowerShot SD880 which has a slightly off-center tripod hole. The magnet is not quite strong enough to hold the camera in place with the offset location of the hole. I feel if I used the adhesive tab it would likely work fine. Only problem is I do not want to permanently attach the contact to the bottom of my camera with the adhesive since the camera would then not sit flat on its own.

Comments about tiltpod Mini Magnet Camera Support for Compact Digital Cameras:
When I saw the ad for this product I immediately saw how it met a need I often have - taking a group picture that I want to be in. Many times I've folded paper twelve times, or stacked note pads or matchbooks in such a way to get the camera angle needed, hoping the camera doesn't shift or fall off it's tentative perch. I am using it on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP3, which has a centered mount thread, so balance is good. The "pivot point" does prevent the battery door from opening fully, so it needs to be removed to get at the battery and SD card, but that is nothing I'm going to complain about. It is a simple, inexpensive device that stays attached to the camera and solves a single problem excellently. I love it!

This is great. Imagine buying a point and shoot camera and having to bring a tripod for those steady shots. The tripod is going to be as big as the camera! The mini magnet support does the work of a tripod but without the bulk.

Works well with stick-on magnet to base for camera used with Canon PowerShot A2200. Very convienient, easy to use. Strong wind will cause movement however. Good for the quick shot fast on the draw!

Applied this to my Canon S100 P&S camera. Very please with it. I can adjust the angle of the camera, and it will work on uneven surfaces as well. Be careful with the stand though, I would imagine that it could possibly scratch the LCD screen. As I keep my camera in a Microfiber Cloth pouch this isn't a concern for me, but it may be for others.

Comments about tiltpod Mini Magnet Camera Support for Compact Digital Cameras:
I'd been looking for something like this: small enough to carry in the outer pouch of my belt-mounted camera case. In many situations, the Tiltpod provides just enough support to make a shot possible. If I had any criticism, it would be that I wish the magnet were a little stronger. My compact camera is an Olympus XZ-1, capable of splendid low-light work but heavy enough in the lens to overpower the magnet if the angle is too steep. However, the Tiltpod gets the job done when I don't want to carry a DSLR or a tripod.

This is an extremely simple solution to the problem of using a simple device instead of a complex tripod to take pictures with a compact camera.

Comments about tiltpod Mini Magnet Camera Support for Compact Digital Cameras:
Taking pictures at night is a snap with this handy little device. No need to lug a tripod - even a small one - around. Just set this device down on a ferrous metal surface like a fence, railing, mailbox, trash container, etc., attach your camera via the magnetic ball joint, set the timer, and press the button. It's that simple. Then slip the Mini Magnet Camera Support into your pocket and move on to the next shot. Brulliant!

Never again will I struggle to "balance" my camera on something or try to "prop" it up at an angle to get the shot I want. This simple, yet effective item makes it a snap. A must have for your carry along point and shoot.

Comments about tiltpod Mini Magnet Camera Support for Compact Digital Cameras:
This is a handy device to have at your fingertips - no more trying to balance a camera on what you thought were safe spots only to see it fall off. The magnet on this unit is very powerful and the base plate (small foot thing) fits very well and holds its own on all the surfaces I've tried it out on. And the fact that it is always with the camera - I have the Gorilla holder and it is nice but where do you put it when you're not using it? This is a slick stand for my small Samsung camera and it works great.

Comments about tiltpod Mini Magnet Camera Support for Compact Digital Cameras:
A good idea and very useful, especially for group shots using the self-timer and for available light shots just about anywhere. I keep it attched to my camera cord. I'll make a cover for base so it doesn't scratch the camera when in my pocket. This will surely become my favorite "tripod" for my compact cameras.
