Defective out of the box. Using 3 USB hard drives with the hub powered it would only show one drive, the first one plugged in. All three drives and their cables work fine when plugged directly into the computer or individually into the hub, but if anymore than 1 drive is plugged in at a time only the first is shown.

The Hub is packed in the usual [*]hard plastic...why? I keep wondering?? Maybe Home Land Security to protect us from [*]bugs??Anyway the hub works fine but be aware that the power plug/converter is 4X times the size of the Hub itself. So much for industrial design :)

Does not slow down USB 3 connection. Not too big but easy to use. Nice red led light glows through clear plastic case. One USB port on the end is convenient.
