I've only had it for a week or so (so I can't comment on durability), but so far it's OK. It seems to be solid and the buttons seem sturdy. The text has less contrast (it's more gray) than the most popular ones from the video reviews I've seen, but it's quite readable with a 15 watt light in my bed's headboard. I would prefer that the whole case was black, but the white makes it easier to see and find perhaps. I have found it simple to operate and load books onto. One weird thing is that when you shut it off and turn it on later to read, it doesn't hold onto the setting for orientation. You have to hit "unlock", turn it sideways (landscape) and relock it, and when you do that, the text goes to the smallest size even though the biggest size (I use) is still check-marked! You have touch the text size icon and pick the already checked size again. A bit of a pain, but it's only once when you first resume reading after turning it off completely.
The battery doesn't last long when you use the wireless or the mp3 player speaker. The wireless function set up easily for me, just a password and I was in. The little speaker is hearable but tiny. It has a headset jack. The browser is a VERY basic mobile version. I'll probably never use it (but I tried it out). It also has an alarm clock, but the reader has to be ON for it to work and I don't know if that drains the battery. There is also a calendar function you can put notes and reminders on. The dictionary is lacking somewhat, especially when looking up old words in an old book!
I don't have many books loaded (I can only read one at a time!) so I don't know if it's true that it's slow to load with many books on an SD card.
It is a bit heavy in the hand, but not too bad. I like the fact that you can turn pages with the screen OR with the buttons. The touch screen works well, but you must use your finger. Highlighting is tricky though. The screen is definitely a fingerprint magnet. I keep a microfiber cloth handy, just put it in SLEEP mode and wipe the screen off.
The eReader come with a PROPRIETARY USB cord (careful!) and a wall charger, for which other brands charge extra. I bought this at a good (cheap!) price, and all I wanted was to be able to read a 1000 page book in bed without crushing my chest! In a year perhaps, I might consider one of the 2 popular (and way more expensive) eReaders, but for now this fulfills my simple needs.

Comments about Pandigital 2GB Novel 6.0" Personal eReader - U.S.:
Very good ereader. Easy to use and handle. Good value for the price. Unit is very easy to read in good lighting. But not so good when lighting is low as the screen cannot be adjusted for low lighting. Some ebooks could not adjust the font size. Having an ereaded that can connect to the internet to download additional books from B&N and other sites is an excellent feature. Excellent ereader except for the need for good lighting.
