Cotton Carrier Camera Vest ONLY (Black)
The black Camera Vest ONLY from Cotton Carrier is a unique chest harness system for one camera that supports your camera eliminating the neck strain usually associated with shooting long jobs such as weddings, sports, public relations and photojournalism. The system is designed for the photographer who carries a DSLR with battery grip. The system comes complete with a camera tether that securely supports your camera and two hubs - one that tilts 15°s and the other that hangs straight. Use the one that suits your shooting style. The hub fits neatly into the 1/4 -20 tripod slot on your camera and then slips into the Lexan receptacle in the front of your vest. For additional stability, the built-in lens Stabilization Strap adds another measure of balance and support by holding the lens firmly against your body, preventing "swing".
First, use the buckles and touch fasteners on the vest to secure it around your body. Both the height and chest harness are fully adjustable. The camera tether then attaches to the vest by the use of a D-Ring. The unit's Split Ring attaches to the camera's strap lug and then to the other end of the tether. The entire unit is inter-connected and provides you with a comfortable and stable way to comfortably walk around while having your camera at the ready to shoot. You can also attach the harness as a standalone system when you attach it to, for example, your backpack strap. Just wrap the touch fastener around the strap and you're set to go. The system is backed by Cotton Carrier's limited lifetime warranty against defects.
The Cotton Carrier Camera Vest (635 RTL-S) differs from their Camera Vest for All Camera Types without Side Holster (633 CVP) in that the Camera Vest ONLY comes with a bonus hand strap and universal tripod adapter.
- The Cotton Carrier can also be used with many popular tripod systems, but you must purchase an optional matching Quick Release Clamp (the Cotton Carrier Quick Release Clamp) or through your tripod's manufacturer - you need to match whatever camera plate your tripod head is using
- The Cotton Carrier is designed to hold a digital SLR of any size and lens configuration - make sure you are using the proper hub for your camera/lens combination. There are two sets of hard anodized Camera Hubs that are available with your Cotton Carrier; regular (flat) and 15 degree angled hubs. The regular hubs are designed for typical, non-professional, non-battery gripped cameras. The 15 degree angled hub is designed specifically for use with professional series (full bodied) and battery-gripped cameras.
- A side holster is available as an option to hold a second camera
- The Cotton Carrier Camera System is designed around the 1/4" standard tripod mount thread size that the majority of SLR, Point & Shoot, and camcorders use
- Although the Cotton Carrier is designed to carry weight loads of essentially any camera and lens combination, providing you use the right camera hub, it is strongly recommend using your camera neck strap as an extra measure of security whenever using your camera under active situations (e.g. mountain bike riding, skiing, hiking)

When I wrote my review of the Cotton Carrier vest earlier, I neglected to add that one should always tighten the camera's carrier anchors before each use of the vest, especially if one uses the hand grip. The torque needed to lock/unlock the camera in its holder can work the anchor nut loose. I would also be sure to obtain an extra hex wrench from the hardware store and keep it in my bag at all times.

I decided to add the Cotton Carrier Vest (only) to my other Cotton Carrier equipment (a bandolier-style belt and holster rig) so I could switch between two cameras. I tried it out at a high school softball game. It was very easy to switch between cameras. The chest anchor's height is just right (it's adjustable). The vest's velcro closure anchor strap would really come in handy for a hiker or cross country ski-er. Getting used to the "mount/dismount" of a camera on the Cotton system seems strange at first, but after a while it's second nature. And the handy, NECESSARY tethers are great.

After using the Cotton Carrier for the last two weeks since getting it, I can say it was a great investment. I used it the other day carring my Canon Rebel XT with Sigma 70-300MM lens for 3 hours at my daughters track meet. I hardly noticed the weight on my shoulders and back. before my neck would ache a lot. It is very easy to get the camera in and out of the slot in the carrier and it is locks in very secure.

Took awhile to adjust Cotton Carrier to fit but once done it fit great. If you hike or do outdoor activities and want to take a camera and have it at the ready, then you will like the Cotton Carrier. Works just like they said it would. Great product.

Well made. The fittings and straps are heavy duty, and I feel pretty confident that my camera won't suddenly end up on the ground.
It's comfortable and easy to get into and out of.
The camera fitting is terrific, especially with the hand strap camera holder.
I haven't tested it for long duration in the field so I don't know how hot or binding it might get. No issues so far however

This vest is a really nice and convenient way to carry a dSLR with a telephoto or zoom lens mounted to the camera body. This is the only strap/carry rig I found where they supply an adapter that incorporates an arca swiss mount plate so I can still attach my camera onto my tripod. Vest is comfortable and fully adjustable. Really takes the strain off my shoulder and neck. Doesn't interfere with carrying a camera backpack either. No other strap I saw has an integrated adapter for tripod quick mount plates/systems! When one is out in the field taking photos it would be totally unacceptable having to first remove the adapter in order to mount your camera on your tripod with a quick attachment plate/system!
