    Sunpak employs a third prong upon their 'household' type sync cords for added stability and the prevention of "accidentally" inserting the cord into an electrical socket.  The household connection is remarkably stable and secure, even without the addition of the third prong, and never seems to accidentally disconnect as so many other forms of camera/flash connection will upon occasion.
