Comments about Sony HDR-CX210 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Blue):
We are using the Handycam so we can shoot audition spots for our daughter who is getting into acting. Our 8 mm camera would not cut it any longer.

Comments about Sony HDR-CX210 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Blue):
Purchased: Sony HDR-CX210 HD Camcorder, extra battery, carry case, Monopod, and 16 gig SDHC card.
I needed a good video camera to record my son's Marching Band and Drumline competition. Originally I was going to purchase the Nikon D5100 DSLR, but did not want to lug around such a large device. The main purpose I bought this was for the HD video. This Handycam is compact and takes awesome HD video. The quality of still pictures is OK. The built in USB connector is a great feature, the USB extension cable that is included helps out a lot too. Sony's software that is built into the Handycam offers easy downloading and dvd creation of your videos. However, as with any HD video, the file size is huge and impossible to e-mail. The software allows you to download and create standard dvd format disc which is much smaller but not HD quality. You can burn your HD video to DVD and play it in any Blu-Ray player. One essential piece of equipment you will need is a tripod or Monopod. The handycam does have image stabilization, but a tripod or monopod helps out a lot. All in all I am very happy with the camera and would recommend it. I am going to be purchasing a small digital camera for stills.
