The Satellite P755-S5196 15.6" Notebook Computer (Platinum) from Toshiba is a desktop replacement notebook computer. It has a large 15.6" TruBrite widescreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which happens to be the standard for HDTVs. The screen also features a 1366 x 768 native resolution supported by a dedicated nVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card with 1GB of dedicated memory.
The system is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-2670QM processor. It also comes with 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 750GB 5400rpm hard drive, a Blu-ray player with DVD burning capabilities, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Intel Wireless Display, an integrated webcam and microphone as well as built-in harmon/kardon stereo speakers. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I use for emails, works in ppt, word, Excel, publisher... Navigate in internet... To prepare presentations, design some mailings for marketing. Its very hard for work, when se need to transport to several sides... And te system is very stablish.

I am a photographer and bought this laptop to mainly use photoshop and lightroom on locations.
Things i like; I like the monitor. Has pretty good colors and contrast.
Things i didn't like; It wasn't as fast as i expected. Reboot is pretty slow as well. Had an harddrive issue right away and returned the laptop because of that reason. Overall it seemed like a cheap built laptop. Which was disappointing since i have been using toshiba for years.

I just got this laptop over a week ago and I love it. I use this laptop for school work, watching videos, and gaming. It is a brute, and easily does anything and everything I can throw at it. Also, the HD screen is beautiful. The only thing is that it gets hot, and devours battery charge.

Bought this laptop last week, online from B&H Photo. Overall I am very happy. B&H was fantastic - easy ording process, shipped on time, arrived on time, no muss and no fuss. Price was the best I could find both online and by searching local electronics stores in the Dallas area. I would order from them again any time.
This laptop is very nice. I'm replacing a 3-year old Fujitsu laptop that is still very capable but is showing signs of aging. This Toshiba P755-S5196 is much faster and lighter. I like the keyboard, though I'm still getting used to the luxury of having a built-in number pad. I can get used to that pretty fast! I'm not a gamer, so I can't give any useful insight about the graphics capabilities. The screen resolution is great and the display looks fantastic. Blue-Ray is awesome. I use this for my personal life and for work, I'm an independent contractor and I need a capable laptop for working on the go.
I like the case - it is textured, so it's fingerprint-free. Looks great, feels great. Nice.
The speakers/sound system are pretty good. I can't recall what other reviews said, but for me the sound is great - much better than my old laptop.
I do some 2D/3D drawing, so it's nice being able to turn off the trackpad when I'm using a mouse. There's an easy setting for that in the control panel. Plug in the mouse, and the trackpad turns off. Sweet.
The only con so far is the battery life. It's not terrible, just not the greatest. Usually ~3 hours for most uses.
Overall I would recommend this laptop. It's comfortable, doesn't run hot, it looks great, and so far the performance has been great. Good job Toshiba. Now lets see if it stands the test of time.
