Power O.I.S. with Active mode is a high-quality optical hand-shake compensation function that's necessary for compact, lightweight camcorders. Because they're optical systems, there's no image degradation--original image quality captured by the lens remains intact, all the way from wide-angle to the longest telephoto zoom. The 32.5mm (equivalent in 35mm format) wide-angle lens is ideal for recording indoors or in tight spaces, especially when fitting both the subject and surrounding area into the frame. The wide-angle also produces beautiful images of wide landscapes and allows you to fit large groups of people into the frame.
The HC-V100 provides lots of user-friendly shooting controls, too. Panasonic's Intelligent Auto takes the guesswork out of shooting just about any setting. iA automatically sets the camera for the situation--you can focus on the moment without fussing with camera controls. Other features like Intelligent Scene Selector and Face Detection help you to record great video, without going to film school.

- 34x Optical Zoom and Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer)
- The HC-V100 features a 34x optical zoom to catch dynamic shots of distant objects with the long telephoto end of the zoom range. And because the zoom is optical, there's limited image degradation. Also, Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) helps prevent blurring - typically a big concern when shooting with a telephoto lens. This combination of optical zoom and Power O.I.S. gives you the ability to take fantastic zoom shots even in less than ideal lighting conditions.

- The 32.5mm wide-angle lens is especially convenient for recording indoors or in tight spaces, making it possible to shoot at a close distance from the subject while fitting both the subject and surrounding area into the frame. The O.I.S. also features an Active mode to assure clear, beautiful images across the entire range from wide-angle to telephoto. The Intelligent Zoom feature employs super-high resolution technology, Image Processing LSI, and ultra-telephoto shooting to exceed the magnification range of the ordinary optical zoom.
