Full high definition video, long telephoto 21x zoom range, 28mm (equivalent) wide-angle lens, and a High Sensitivity Sensor for greatly improved low-light images make this the compact camcorder you've been looking for. The HC-V700M High Definition Camcorder (Black) from Panasonic gets you out and recording HD video right now: just charge the battery and start shooting with the 16GB built-in memory, or pop in an SD, SDHC or SDXC memory card.
Hybrid O.I.S. + is a high-quality optical hand-shake compensation function that thoroughly suppresses blurring across the entire zoom range, so every scene is captured in crisp, beautiful images even when the user shoots while walking or takes handheld zoom shots with high magnification. Because it's an optical system, there's no image degradation--original image quality captured by the lens remains intact, all the way from wide-angle to the longest telephoto zoom.
The powerful High Sensitivity Sensor makes it possible to capture stunning indoor and nighttime shots, regardless of dark lighting conditions--you can record crisp, bright images with minimal noise whether you're shooting in good light or in poor light.
The 28mm (equivalent in 35mm format) wide-angle lens is ideal for recording indoors or in tight spaces, especially when fitting both the subject and surrounding area into the frame. The wide-angle also produces beautiful images of wide landscapes and allows you to fit large groups of people into the frame.
The HC-V700M can convert 2D images recorded by the user into 3D images and it can also record 3D images using an optional 3D conversion lens.
The HC-V700M also features the Advanced Highlight Playback function, which allows you to view recorded images as quickly as possible. This feature uses the I.I.S. (Intelligent Index System) to detect zooming, panning, scene changes, and faces in recorded images as "highlights." It then automatically plays back the detected highlight scenes, or ones that the user has personally selected. It also offers playback effects such as Slow, Fading Still Image, and Flash Playback.
Also included is iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode with Face Recognition, which selects the most suitable shooting mode with the press of a button. Face Recognition finds the faces of registered people (up to six faces) and optimizes the focus and exposure for them. The camcorder continues to track this subject as the person moves anywhere within the frame.
High definition video gives you vivid, life-like, detailed images. It's also a format that will be compatible with computer systems for years to come. And, the high definition video recorded with the HC-V500 will look great on your HDTV, where every minute detail shows.

Comments about Panasonic 16GB HC-V700M Full HD Camcorder:
This camera I was eyeing to get to record my soon to be baby girl but ended up getting it early to film a wedding for my dads friend because his wife is terminally ill and could not make the wedding. I was worried that the 1 CCD in the camera would effect the quality of the video but overall I am very impressed. The camera does as it says it will do. There is a very fine video quality with it. The OIS is exceptionally well made so there is no shaking when recording video and with how low you can go on the F stops it makes it perfect for low light shooting. I was worried about some of the shooting because an initial test showed some bleeding in the video but there was no issue with the wedding even when there was not a lot of light. The cameras auto focus works great and it is great that it can work very fast. I am disappointed it had no focus iris on it though I expected it not to by looking at the picture on the website. The Wind Cancelling option could be a lot better than how it is. I still get wind noise but that was not enough to take away a star. The battery I got with this camera works about an hour and half so if you get a 32gb SD card and plan on doing continuous shooting you should get a bigger battery.

Comments about Panasonic 16GB HC-V700M Full HD Camcorder:
I use this camcorder for our new baby. It's light weight and easy to use.
It has a great 'quick on' feature. Just open the flip out LCD touch screen/view finder and hit record. Got some great shots because it's ready to go.
The zoom with image stabilizer is fantastic.
It has a built in LED light and will turn on automatically if needed.
I've only had this camera for less than a month and still find great features. Example: Being able to take still shot while recording a video.
I also purchased a 64GB SD card for more recording. With the built-in memory and SD card, I have the capacity to record up to 10 hours of video.
I did install the software that came with it but haven't used it because I currently use Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
The battery(model 160) capacity is it's only flaw. It'll record for 45 minutes before needing a recharge. Then has to be recharged in the camera. Which makes the camera 'tied' to the wall. I got around this by buying a 2nd battery and an external charger. I could have opted for a higher capacity battery(model 320) but I like the compact size of the 160.
