The Folio 13-1020us 13.3" Notebook Computer (Steel Gray) from Hewlett Packard is HP's first ever Ultrabook. With a super slim profile of less than an inch, a weight of just over 3 pounds and 9 hours of battery life, this HP Ultrabook takes portability to the next level. While this HP Ultrabook may be thin and lightweight, it is far from fragile. Its brushed aluminum finish comes in a steel gray color for a solid build and stylish design.
The 13.3" HD BrightView display is backlit with LED lamps, which use less power and provide better image quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also the standard of HDTVs. The 1366 x 768 native resolution is powered by integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-2467M processor. It also has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB solid state drive, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth support, integrated webcam and digital microphone. This HP Ultrabook features USB 3.0, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

The great: battery life (best I've ever had the privilege of using), keyboard, weight, size, startup time, all great.
The not-so-great: the trackpad. I've had some issues with it and I think others have too. The clicking with it and even touching it sometimes while typing will sometimes mess with what I'm doing. Don't love it and coming from a Lenovo, this is a lot worse in comparison. If anything else were to be bad, it would be that it does get a bit warm and it does make a slight whirring noise (this is normal though, right?).
Overall, love everything about it except the trackpad. I think I may get an external mouse and not deal with it at all!

This is gift I received as a replacement for my old mini-laptop. It's great- incredibly fast startup and net surfing, but also has the memory and keyboard for doing documents. The only place it falls behind the old laptop is lack of a DVD drive for loading programs I own that I can't get on there another way. But it has 2 USB ports, HDMl port, and a digital media slot to load everything else. the mouse pad has an automatic zoom that gets activated if you have two fingers poised over the pad; takes a little learning to keep from accidentally enlarging things. The battery life is awesome (7-9 hours!!)

was looking for an ultra portable unit and did not want to learn a new OS with a mac. my daughter has a macbook air and this is better in my opinion (for my use) The size is amazing. with the long battery life (it really is impressive) and the slim and small package - you truly are set for the day when on the road. i am very happy. I researched them all and definitely made the right choice.

I travel for a living, and this ultrabook does everything well for the road warrior. It's not the absolute thinnest, lightest, or has the brightest screen, but when typing all day in an office/hotel room and running through airports, it performs day in/day out. Boot up times are incredible, and it's fast for working on Word, Excel, and Acrobat. Did I mention the battery life is great, only rivaled by my iPad.

Overall the product is great, except that the pad is stiffer than other laptops when you press right or left click.

Got this a few weeks ago from B&H for the best price I could find. So far I have no complaints. Great size, great feel. Like the soft touch surface on the keys. I can get 6.5 hours out of it with almost constant use; internet (over wifi), word, excel, etc. Very responsive, fast boot and/or wakeup. May not be the thinnest, may not be the lightest, but is a great price for the features. Have no specific complaints so far.

Comments about HP / Hewlett Packard Folio 13-1020us Ultrabook 13.3" Notebook Computer (Steel Gray):
I use this computer daily for simple tasks like web browsing and email, but I also use it for very intensive tasks like software development, graphics and word processing. It is excellent for all these tasks. The performance is better than my HP EliteBook, which has 2 Quad Core processors and 8 GBs of RAM, no really...
The 13" screen takes a little getting used to and does make it more difficult for my programming tasks (where it's nice to see as many lines of code as possible), but it is a nice display and I have no complaints.
I would also like to have a larger hard drive (156GB SSD would be excellent) but for most the 128 GB is more than sufficient, and the disk speed is truly phenomical.
it has by far the best keyboard of all the ultrabooks I've tested. I'm writing this review on the Folio and can still type right around 60 WPM.

I am a software developer and therefore tend to run a lot of programs at once. So far this ultrabook has stood up to the task wonderfully. I actually prefer it over my very powerful EliteBook. The boot up time is phenominal and the response of the device is fantastic, due to the high disk read write speeds that are much faster than a conventional HD.
If it had a 15" screen and 256GB HDD, it would be as close to perfection as any computer I've ever owned.

great performance. lightening fast start up. i also love the lighted keyboard. trackpad is much better than other HP netbooks ive used. good battery although i havent seen the 9 hrs advertised. nice and slim. works perfectly to watch 1080p video on a 46 tv through the HDMI.
only reason im not giving 5 stars is its a little heavy, but that partly because its well built and metal.
