It connects to your home Wi-Fi network and a free app that you download from the iTunes App Store or the Android Marketplace onto your device. Its mini IR blaster even makes it possible to send signals through closed cabinet doors, affording you greater flexibility.

This thing does a great job of replacing a pile of remotes with a simple to use iPad app. I love it!!

It works. But... using your phone as a remote is much more complicated then you think (you have to unlock your phone, go to the application, it takes a while to connect, then press the desired button). To decrease volume, for example, you might take 15-20 seconds. Too much. And... it gets confused if you mix it with the regular controller. It will think the device is on when it actually is off, and vice-versa.
