The Aspire One 722 AO722-0474 11.6" Netbook Computer (Burgundy Red) from Acer features a unique "water ripple" pattern design and a burgundy red finish. Just 1" thin and around 3 pounds, this Acer netbook is easy to carry around while you're on the go. The 6-cell battery sits flush in the chassis, which further streamlines this Acer netbook's look. It also provides up to 7 hours of battery life on a single charge so you can stay mobile.
The 11.6" CineCrystal widescreen display is backlit with LED lamps, which use less power and provide better picture quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio and its 1366 x 768 native resolution is supported by integrated AMD Radeon HD 6290 graphics, which can dedicate up to 256MB of system memory.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.0GHz AMD Fusion C-60 processor. It also has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 5400rpm hard drive, a multi-in-1 media card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an integrated webcam and digital microphone. It also has built-in stereo speakers with high-definition audio support. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I use my Aspire One mainly for on-the-go writing, web serfing, etc. This is not my primary PC. As a writer and professor, I need a smaller laptop capable of word processing and fast Internet access while not at home. This is an upgrade from my prior slow and crusty, but much more expensive, Sony Vaio netbook. The Aspire does all that in spades, and with so much memory, I have uploaded all my files (documents, movies, pictures, music) to it as a kind of back up, too. Pros: great screen definition/resolution, fast, light, cute design, great color, exceptional value. Cons: no Bluetooth. And though battery power hasn't been an issue, as I always try to find power outlets, it can only get 5-6 hours of work done on battery. Also, and this isn't really the computer's fault, but sometimes, when I shut down, the Windows does automatic updating...last time I went to shut it down after writing in a cafe, the Windows update had 38 updates to do and it took over 30 minutes for it to complete! You can change this option of automatic Windows updating via the Control Panel setting, which I may do. All-around fabulous machine for the price point!

Upgraded myself from an Asus HE1001 which was slowing down but still a stellar little machine. The Acer is nice, video is great and smooth for streaming netflix. Keyboard, though 100%, is soft and I worry about the large spaces between keys being a gunk repository in the future. Battery usage is nowhere near as good as my Asus (which would, even 3yrs old, give me 6-8hrs use) and now I get 3-5 hrs use with the new Acer but such is life. The widescreen is nice, but I've had to tweak quite a lot in able to enjoy working on it (teeny text and having to zoom webpages to read). The touchpad is a bit too sensitive - I have to make sure nothing is near it (opposite hand, shirt, etc) when I'm using it else it refuses to budge. Touchpad buttons are nice, and just the right pressure to activate.

Was quite surprised how nice this unit is. Light weight, easy to carry, keyboard has nice feel. Fires up fairly quickly, good quality pictures, images. The only thing I don't like is there is no Cap Lock Key light to indicate when it is on. I purchased the Red one, nice color.

4GB RAM, 500MB hard disk, HDMI, etc., etc. for under 400 bucks - what's not to like? I channel Hulu to my flat screen TV, write programs to illustrate algebra concepts for my teenager, use it as my morning newspaper, and plan to use it as the core of a traveling recording studio. Couldn't find a tablet that would do all of that for anything close to the price; AND it has a very nice keyboard. Plug in a wireless mouse/keyboard along with that TV and it's a very robust computing platform! Good-looking, small, and very light. Battery's good for several hours of fairly intensive use.

This Product is Awesome and basically satisfies all my needs as a casual portable light-use netbook. Shining Red Exterior , fast startup speed , strong performance given the 4g ram and plenty of storage. Very clear display and light weight.
only drawback is the battery, what i get from it is about 4 hours use including video watching, web browsing and standby.

Comments about Acer Aspire One 722 AO722-0474 11.6" Netbook Computer (Burgundy Red):
I give 4 stars for the quick delivery but for the Netbook itself...it shut down on me after 2 days. The infamous windows blue screen came up stating "an error and to shut down and restart and if persistence seek tech support" then it went to a black screen that would not let me proceed with any commands unless I have a reboot disc..which I do not..and the Netbook does not have a disk drive..so I had to call Acer support in the middle of the night and they determined I needed to get it sent in to either replace hard drive or format it...Oh I hope it works because I've always trusted Acer in the past with great quality products...May update this review when I get the Netbook back..
