The K53E-DS51 15.6" Notebook Computer (Mocha) from ASUS has powerful 2nd generation dual-core Intel Core processing power and seamless multitasking capabilities, which allows for greater energy efficiency and a smooth user experience.
The 15.6" widescreen display is backlit with LED lamps, which use less power and provide better image quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also the standard for HDTVs. The integrated Intel GMA HD graphics provide a 1366 x 768 native resolution.
The system is powered by a dual-core 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-2450M processor. It also has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an integrated webcam and microphone. I've had this Asus laptop now for several months and am very pleased with it. It was competitively priced through B&H (which provided great service and fast delivery) and has sufficient RAM, hard drive and speed for my purposes; I mainly utilize it for word processing, spreadsheets and photo editing and storage. I'm not a gamer nor into high end video graphics so the Asus is exactly what I needed. Nonetheless, graphics are very good with excellent screen display. Moreover, it is well constructed; it does not have that cheap plastic construction to it as other laptops and is not loaded with a lot of added fluff software that you don't want or need and then end up having to uninstall. Battery power is sufficient, but I haven't tested it to its maximum limits yet.
I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone who does not require a high end, lightening fast gaming computer, but rather wants a good, solid and basic component for everyday tasks.
