LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) are the next great wave in studio lighting. They are bright, lightweight, cool-running and economical because they draw very little electricity and the diodes last a very long time.
This is the MK Digital Direct SparkleLite Mini-Lite 350-2 Single LED Light. It produces no infrared or ultraviolet light and does not heat up the subject. Conversely, fiber optic tungsten lights consume 150-250 watts and can produce a significant amount of heat.
The light's gooseneck illuminator produces approximately 130 lumens of daylight-balanced light that is collimated into an intense cone. Although this Mini-Lite has only 1 gooseneck, the base does have 2 dimmers and provision for adding another gooseneck at a later time. The Mini-Lite is an ideal tool for adding sparkle to your jewelry photography.
- 30,000 Hour Life
- Unlike halogen lamps in fiber optic lights which routinely burn out in 50-200 hours, LEDs will last for many years.
- Low Power Consumption
- The MiniLite 350-2 consumes 5.0W of power, versus most fiber optic lights that consume 150-250W.
- Rugged Gooseneck Design
- May be bent to virtually any position as often as desired for optimal light positions. There are no glass fibers to break.
- High Intensity
- Each gooseneck illuminator produces approximately 130 lumens of light that is collimated into an intense cone of light. Goosenecks can be spaced 4.0 - 6.0" from the subject with plenty of even illumination.
- Variable Intensity Light
- Light level can be accurately controlled with the rheostat control knob.
- Cool Light
- MK MiniLite 350-2 produces no infrared or ultraviolet light and does not heat up the subject. Since there are only 5.0W consumed by the LED, there is virtually no heat. Conversely, fiber optic lights consume 150-250 watts and can produce a significant amount of heat.
- Compact Size
- The MK MiniLite 350-2 occupies only 12 square inches of counter space which makes it convenient to place alongside a Microscope for easy control.
- Low Price
- The MK MiniLite 350-2 costs about half the price of many similar fiber optic lights.
