The stylish, ultra-portable and lightweight Samsung 128GB Series 7 Slate 11.6" Tablet PC (Black) is only a half-inch thick and features a user-friendly, office software ready Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit) operating system. The tablet is highlighted by a brilliant 11.6" HD TFT LCD multi-touch display that supports 10-finger touch and digitizer pen interaction, as well as a rich 1366 x 768 native resolution. The striking display uses SuperBright Plus technology, which boosts its brilliance by 36 to 50% over conventional LCD tablet displays. The bright, high-definition picture quality makes gaming more intense, movies more life-like, video-chatting more like talking face to face, and surfing the Internet more satisfying.
In order to provide users with the ability to enjoy smooth multi-tasking and seamless page and task transitions, Samsung armed the Series 7 Slate with a powerful 1.6GHz Intel i5-2467M processor. The Series 7 Slate is also ready to run your favorite software. The Windows 7 OS works seamlessly with all your favorite office software. For connectivity, the Series 7 Slate features 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi wireless Internet access. All you need is a WiFi hot-spot or your own wireless home network. It's Bluetooth-enabled as well, supporting Bluetooth V 3.0 + HS. The tablet is even WiDi capable, which means that it supports wireless HDMI audio and video connectivity between it and your compatible HDTV. There's also a wired LAN connector port available if you have the optional docking station (sold separately). Conveniently, the tablet is also equipped with a micro HDMI port, a USB 2.0 port, a dock connector port, and a headphone output / microphone input combo jack. Plus, for memory expansion, there's even a microSD memory card slot.
As an added bonus, the Series 7 Slate features front and back webcams, as well as exclusive Fast Start technology. Fast Start lets the tablet go from hybrid sleep mode to fully operational in as little as two seconds. Another highlight of the lightweight tablet is its ability to support so many user interfaces. This isn't an like other tablets. This is a real computer for when you need to get things DONE. This is a tool for professionals. It syncs with my desktops happily, so my files are with me where ever I go. When I need to work on a document, whatever it is, the Slate runs it fine. Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit, Photoshop, InDesign - whatever I would formerly need to sit at my desk to do, I can do on-the-go.I thought it a gimmick at first, but the fact it bundles a Wacom digitizer pen is fabulous. I can sign PDFs, sketch, write notes... anything. Window's ability to decipher my handwriting has been amazing - far superior to pecking at on-screen keyboards. The inclusion of Swype was a nice touch, though.Even though the Slate is all business, it's bloody quick. No waiting for it to recover from sleep, so it's perfect for jotting notes, or playing a game/watching a flick while in line.The cons: The bundled "update" software can be annoying, and the backup partition is a waste of space. A few tweaks, and it's good to go, so no losing stars for this. Battery life isn't as good as it might be, but for the performance garnered, I can't complain too much.I do wish the dock and case were bundled with the device. I take a lot of photos and use peripherals, so I would've much rather seen a second USB port, and a SD slot instead of microSD. Now we're getting into wishlist territory instead of actual cons, but it would be perfect if those items were included.Yes, it's pricey. And I had my doubts about ordering. But, it's proven itself and I'd absolutely buy it again. Bonus: I get to laugh at my girlfriend's tablet when it can't play Flash, a website doesn't show up correctly, or it just can't cope. Hm. It's almost worth the fifth star just to be able to dole out smug looks...

If you are looking for a laptop replacement tablet you are looking at the right item. This series 7 slate does everything I need, which is quite a lot. I do a lot of 3D rendering and this product holds up nicely. The only real problem I have with it is the price, but if you look at this as a laptop and not a tablet the price seems a bit more justified.

This tablet is great for what I wanted it for and I am building a "touch enabled" spreadsheet to use in the field. I have seen the same tablet loaded with Win8 and it is even more useable (my brother is an IT guy and has the prerelease candidate).
Powerful, boots in no time, uses nearly no power when in sleep mode and wakes in about 3 seconds.

My desk top motherboard went kaput and I thought about getting a laptop to replace it I was also keen on a tablet or an e-reader. Then I found the windows slate. It is powerfull enough to plug into my 22" monitor and replace my desktop. I have plugged in a usb hub and two external hard drives (one converted from my desktop), a dvd writer my existing key board and mouse all go into the dock. When I want a laptop I remove it from the dock and use the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. As a tablet I use the touch and stylus. With the Kindle software I have an e-reader. Seeing as its windows based I have all the software I need already.
Also super service from B&H especially as I live in Canada.

I use this product for on location support for a DSLR.
It is great for tethering and live view with USB
Extremely accurate screen that I can even calibrate with my Datacolor Spyder 4 Pro.
Windows & OS lets me run professional software.
Runs Lighroom and Photoshop remarkably well for such a compact device.
Wacom pen support with pressure sensitivity makes it easy to do retouching on the road or simply previewing retouching to a client on set.
Far more useful than the iPad.

This is the fastest tablet I have ever seen. Boots up windows in about 12 seconds. The only tweak needed is to trim the recovery partition (20gb).

Wonderful device. It comes with windows 7. I created a new partition without deleting the original and installed a second bootable Windows 8 Consumer Preview. This computer is designed for windows 8, metro interface, easy access to desktop and running programs with just a single swipe. If enabled, during boot it asks for boot from windows 7 or windows 8. When you switch on it almost runs instantly, no delay on bios. Also i bought a 100 gr keyboard called Rii Mini... Using a case logic neopren case, keyboard and its digital pencil fits inside compactly. I look forward for GPS and Sim Card version, these have been disabled under empty slot. MKV 1080p videos work smooth and with bright colours.
