Used on my family friendly Canon HF M40. Attaches securely and is deep enough to block sunlight from washing out the LCD screen. Had another one that wasn't built as well and had to be assembled each time. Besides being more difficult to attach it didn't block as much light. Nice product.

After careful measuring, I bought this for my Sony FX1000. The elastic strap occasionally slips off the left side of screen, but basically it's a good fit. Very sturdy, depth shields screen well. It looks good, and is much lower price than the Sony hood for this model.
