Whether you have a TV or a small, portable computer and want to expand its capabilities to include burning, copying, or just loading content from Blu-Ray, CD, or DVD discs, the Samsung SE-406AB Slim Portable Blu-ray Reader DVD Writer is for you. This external, tray-loading optical drive is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers and supports a wide variety of Blu-Ray, DVD, and CD disc formats.
The plug-and-play SE-406AB connects to your computer via a USB 2.0 cable and supports standard 2D discs as well as 3D Blu-ray discs which it will display in full HD resolution. The drive will read Blu-ray discs at speeds up to 6x, DVDs at speeds up to 8x and CDs at speeds up to 24x. Besides, its disc burning capability, another benefit of owning the SE-506AB is its ability to breathe new life into your old DVDs by upscaling them to full HD.

- AV devices such as a TV can play multimedia files stored on your disc by simply connecting your Samsung Portable ODD via a USB cable. I have been unable to truley evaluate this product. I have tried it on a macair, and old g4 powerbook......it didn't play the blu rays. On our macbook white it worked fine....not sure
