The Kodak 4 x 12" #11 Wratten 2 Filter is a basic contrast filter, primarily for use with black and white film. This yellow-green filter subtly darkens skies and lightens foliage. It is commonly associated for use with portraiture and attaining greater separation from skin tones and outdoor backgrounds.
This filter measures 4 x 12" / 101.6 x 304.8mm and has a 2x filter factor, requiring an increase of 1 stop for normal exposure. Wratten 2 filters are constructed from gelatin for ease of use and consistent performance. When compared to the original Wratten filters, Wratten 2 filters are more rigid and durable, easier to handle, and less sensitive to humidity, static cling, and fingerprints.
