If you have a collection of international movies and you don't want to settle for second-class picture quality or sound, the BDP-140E Blu-ray 3D Disc Player from Pioneer could be just what you're looking for. This disc player features playback for Blu-ray discs marked for any region in the world, and DVDs from any region when used with a multi-system TV. It's also compatible with worldwide voltage standards. So whether you're watching foreign releases of movies from the comfort of your couch, or you're venturing across the globe, you can still sit back to enjoy your collection.

Of course, the BDP-140E can provide crystal-clear full HD 1080p resolution, so it can output some of the most stunning imagery available today. If you have a few 3D Blu-ray discs, it can play those, too. Not to mention, it's great for rocking out, as well -- it also plays CDs and SACDs. The BDP-140E can process most Dolby and DTS audio formats usually found on Blu-ray discs or DVDs, including the lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. This disc player features an HDMI output, 2 USB ports, and 1 Ethernet jack.

But that's not all -- you can connect the BDP-140E to a broadband Internet connection using an optional Wi-Fi adapter (AS-WL300). This opens the door to network features like BD-Live, YouTube, Picasa, and playback from your PC or network media server. And for those who have an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, there's an added perk for you. Simply download a free app from the App Store, and you can kick back and control everything from your favorite portable Apple device.

With worldwide compatibility, easy connections to your other A/V components, and a glossy piano black finish, the BDP-140E makes a rewarding addition to any setup.

Please note! This disc player is not supported by a manufacturer warranty. To support it, B&H backs it with a 90-day warranty.

Plays All Blu-ray Discs
The BDP-140E is able to play all Blu-ray discs (region A, B or C) on any TV. It's able to play all standard DVDs (region 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) on a multi-system TV (region 1 only when used with an NTSC TV)
3D Playback
Immerse yourself in the world of cinema-quality 3D entertainment with crisp image detail using innovative Blu-ray 3D disc technology
Advanced Networking Features
You'll have access to networking features like BD-Live (requires adding USB memory) for unlocking movie bonus material from the web and watching YouTube or seeing photos on Picasa. You can play music, video and photo content from a PC or network media server connected to the same LAN and featuring multimedia content server functionality
Superior Audio Performance
Good sound is essential to your viewing experience. Luckily, the BDP-140E delivers the most advanced multi-channel audio and supports all the latest HD audio formats
Control Using Your iPad/iPod/iPhone with iControlAV2 App
Operate your Pioneer receiver and Blu-ray player with your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch in a wireless LAN environment using iControlAV2, a remote control application for your iDevices -- simply download it from the App Store and you're good to go
DVD Upconversion to Near-HD Quality
The BDP-140E is capable of upconverting your collection of standard-definition DVDs to near-HD quality. They'll achieve a more detailed, higher resolution look when you're watching them
BD-Live (Profile 5)
BD-Live players include a minimum of 1GB local memory and bring picture-in-picture and online functionality via the player's internet connection. The profile allows you to download up-to-date content to add to the movie, from refreshed trailers to exclusive special features. Profile 5 players have BD-Live, and are also capable of 3D playback
Full HD 1080p Resolution
The BDP-140E features 1920 x 1080 full high-definition resolution to give you some of the most stunning imagery available when you connect it to your HDTV with an HDMI cable, and pop in a Blu-ray disc
x.v. Color
x.v.Color (also known as xvYCC or Extended-gamut YCC) is a color space that supports 1.8 times as many colors as the RGB color space. The result is that you see greens, reds and blues far deeper than previously possible
Deep Color (36-bit)
Deep Color ensures that all color transitions and gradients are reproduced with the highest level of precision. It enables increased contrast ratio, eliminates on-screen color banding (for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations between colors) and can represent many times more shades of gray between black and white. So what you see is as natural and lifelike as possible
Sound Retriever Link and Stream Smoother Link
These enhance compressed audio and video files when used in combination with Pioneer's matching A/V receivers
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio
DTS-HD Master Audio is an extension to the original DTS audio format. It delivers up to 7.1 channels of sound at 24-bit depth resolution. DTS-HD High Resolution Audio is selected as an optional surround sound format for Blu-ray Disc with constant bit rates up to respectively 6Mbps and 3Mbps. It is supposed to be an alternative for DTS-HD Master Audio where disc space may not allow it
DTS-HD Master Audio Essential
DTS-HD Master Audio Essential provides the same quality high-end sound offered by DTS-HD Master Audio, and is a full Master Audio feature set for Blu-ray Disc, with the exception of DTS ES Matrix and NEO 6. Although DTS-HD Master Audio Essential does not currently support DTS | 96 /24, DTS ES, ES Matrix, and DTS NEO 6, for standard DVD discs, it offers DTS backwards compatibility, allowing you to enjoy DVDs in high quality DTS Digital Surround
Dolby Digital Plus
Dolby Digital Plus is a digital audio compression scheme developed specifically for Blu-ray Disc. It is a development of the earlier Dolby Digital system. Compared to Dolby Digital, it supports a greater range of bitrates at higher quality and up to thirteen full range audio channels compared with Dolby Digital's original five
Dolby Digital
The current surround sound quality decoding standard, Dolby Digital means movie theater sound performance for a home cinema. The listener will be wrapped in surround sound by 5.1-channel audio sound compression technology. Depending on the speakers, the front left and right, center, rear left and right speakers can span frequencies from 20 Hz - 20 kHz and there is a dedicated subwoofer channel for additional low frequency sound effects. Extra features mean not only stunning soundtracks but also additional language tracks on one disc
