The KA7-7 350-Watt Class D 4-Channel Power Amplifier with DSP Controls by K-Array adds to its extensive feature set with a lightweight, efficient, and rackmountable build. Its stereo input feeds four internal amplifiers, which power left and right mains, plus two mono-summed subwoofer channels.
The KA7-7 has two balanced XLR inputs with a switchable ground lift and a rotary input pad ranging from unity gain to infinity. It provides a USB output as well as dual RS485 jacks for PC connectivity. Built for daisy chaining, the KA7-7 has XLR link outputs for program signal, and a PowerCon output to link power. A dip switch on the rear panel allows up to 30 unique ID assignments for remote controlling arrays via software. The dual Speakon outputs each carry two channels, a side of the stereo signal and a mono sum of both sides. An optical input limiter automatically protects the system from dangerous peaks.
The K-Array KA7-7's most intriguing feature is, without a doubt, the built-in DSP input processing. The eDSP software installs on your Windows PC from the included CD-ROM and connects to the amplifier via USB or RS485. eDSP boasts real-time controls for EQ, dynamics, and signal level. The software's 4-band parametric equalizer is enough to manage a problem space, or just make simple sonic enhancements. The EQ, and a level control ranging from -infinity to +6dB, can be stereo-linked or controlled separately per input channel. The dual-channel compressor utilizes global settings for both input channels, providing dynamics control in addition to the amplifier's built-in limiter.
