The 4000 Series QLE4060C Single Port PCIe to 1 GbE iSCSI Adapter from Q-Logic provides SAN connectivity over Ethernet and TCP/IP network infrastructures. Both the iSCSI and TCP/IP processing functions are performed on the adapters and not on the host server CPU. The overall iSCSI SAN performance is increased when you offload the functions to the adapters and more host server CPU processing power is available to the server applications. The adapters support the latest version of IP addressing (IPv6), which is a basic requirement for the next-generation government installations.

Block Storage over Ethernet with iSCSI
The iSCSI adapter provides connectivity to SANs over Ethernet and TCP/IP network infrastructures for PCIe bus-based servers. It uses a widely deployed and familiar networking technology thus offering improved management and storage network. The iSCSI also lowers the total cost of ownership.
Superior Application Performance with FlexOffload
By offloading the iSCSI and TCP/IP protocol to the adapter, the 4000 series adapter virtually eliminates the host CPU system processing, interrupts and bus accesses required for iSCSI and TCP/IP, delivering superior application performance to software iSCSI alternatives.
IPv6 Support
The 4000 series adapter offers IPv6 support in an iSCSI TCP/IP offload engine (TOE) adapter. IPv6 has next generation IP addressing, which quadruples the number of network address bits from 32 bits (in IPv4) to 128 bits (in IPv6). As networks migrate to the updated IP protocol, you can be assured that the adapter will interoperate in emerging network environments.
Simplified SAN Management
The adapter utilizes the existing storage interface of the operating system. The familiar storage interface allows support proven LUN, target-level fail-over functionality, storage SAN boot, existing SAN management and application software.
