The Padlock USB 2.0 Encrypted Hard Drive with PIN Access by Apricorn is a 500 GB portable hard drive and secure storage system. It features a convenient, integrated USB cable and stores up to ten, secure PIN passkeys with 256-bit military grade AES hardware encryption for ultimate security. Its Administrator feature allows IT departments to secure its mobile users by assigning admin access to the drive before being distributed.

If the military grade encryption wasn't enough, this drive also self destructs after a predetermined number of failed PIN entries. It assumes it's being attacked and destroys the encryption key and locks itself, rendering the data useless and requiring a total reset to redeploy the Padlock. It also features VTC (Variable Time Circuit) technology which prevents against timing attacks aimed at accessing the drive by studying its behavior and infiltrating the Padlock's electronics.

What's more, the Padlock incorporates several heavy-duty design features such as a weather resistant key pad, 16-point omni-directional shock mounting system and super tough, epoxy compound protecting the circuitry and encryption chip.
