The Thunderbolt SSD from Elgato Systems is an ultra-fast portable hard drive that features both a Solid State Drive (SSD), as well as Thunderbolt technology. With this combination you will have a device that dramatically outperforms the data transfer speeds of portable FireWire or USB drives, while also being far less prone to damage or failure than traditional hard drives.
Even better, the Elgato Thunderbolt SSD uses a strong metal enclosure for added protection of your valuable data as it shoots through the Thunderbolt cable (sold separately). It also has no need for noisy fans or spinning disks due to the SSD having no moving parts, so you won't hear a sound as your files race at speeds of 270 MB/s.
