The Cork Record Mat from Music Hall is used with turntables. It reduces crackling and makes vocals more dramatic and clear. The mat is surrounded by 12 isolation discs from the outside and has a single larger disc for the center label. The discs lift and support the record while floating it above and decoupling it from the platter. This lowers record vibration and reduces acoustic feedback. Stylus tracking is improved and record wear is reduced.
The material cork helps absorb unwanted vibrations. It is naturally non-static and non-adhesive, making the mat safe for use on all platters and won’t harm your records. The cork grips the record better than felt so there’s less record slippage and fewer timing errors. The mat is thin and lightweight and it generally doesn’t require VTA adjustment.
