The Shutter Release Cable for BG-N6 and BG-N5 Battery Grips from Vello is a replacement or spare shutter release cable that connects the Vello BG-N9 Battery Grip to the Nikon D3200 DSLR, the BG-N6 Battery Grip to the Nikon D5100 DSLR and the BG-N5 Battery Grip to the Nikon D3100. The battery grips hold up to two EN-EL14 batteries to supply the camera with extra power and also provide a vertical position shutter button. The shutter release cable connects from the socket on the battery grip to the remote release port on the camera body and transmits the shutter release signal from battery grip to the camera.
Having a spare cable in your camera bag is a good idea in case the original, which comes with the grip, is lost while on vacation or assignment.
