The Hot Shoe Adapter from Shape, when combined with a Sony NEX digital camera, allows you to attach any accessory with a hot or cold shoe mount. This allows you to mount camera accessories that otherwise would not be supported by the camera, like a camera speedlight. However this adapter acts like a cold shoe and does not support electronics and data transfer via metal contacts, so external power would need to be supplied to any accessories that required it.
