The 1000/100/10BaseT Presto Dual Port PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Card from Sonnet is a 4-lane PCIe card which helps to add more Gigabit Ethernet ports to your server for improved performance and reliability or to connect your computer to more networks. It provides transfer rates of up to 2000 Mbps and is a perfect device for an advanced networking solution.

The 4-lane PCIe card supports link aggregation on its own as well as with onboard Gigabit Ethernet ports. It provides a full duplex communication to achieve transfer rates of up to 2000 Mbps, which is ideal for high-bandwidth data transfer requirements
It supports 1000/100/10 BaseT auto-negotiation and full/half duplex communication, which enables it to be used in most networks
In case of a port failure or unplugged cable, the card provides transparent failover protection that keeps the computer connected to the network
The PCIe card also supports 9000 byte jumbo packet transfers to support higher performance and to reduce overhead while transferring large files
The need for costly cable replacement is eliminated as this card supports Gigabit speeds over Cat-5 cabling
If your computer already has onboard Gigabit Ethernet ports, then the added card can be used to connect the computer to other devices such as a printer, AirPort Extreme base station, DSL/cable modem or a video server. The onboard Gigabit Ethernet ports can be left available for other connections
The PCIe card offers a simple configuration and is compatible with Mac Pro, Power Mac G5, Xserve, PCs and servers with a 4x PCIe slot
