I use the cassettes as a back up audio recording during videotape depositions. The 120 minute format conforms with the video recording length. Eventually legal audio recording will go to some form of digital format. But many court reporters still use cassettes, and the quality of the recording is good for their purposes. The only drawback that I've seen is the need to turn the tape to the opposite side when side A is done.
