V-Comp Native from Waves is a dynamics plug-in that uses time constants and a fixed nominal output gain to recreate the famous output-bus sound signature of a vintage 2254 hardware compressor. The plug-in is very responsive, with only a little gain reduction needed to glue a mix together.

Controls

Input: -18 dBu to +18 dBu
Output: -18 dBu to +18 dBu
Meter Switch: input, output or gain reduction
Meter Display: displays input, output, or gain reduction levels
Analog Switch: off, 25%, 50% and 100%

Limiter Section
  • Limiter: on/off
  • Limit level: +4 dBu to +12 dBu
  • Attack: fast or slow
  • Release: 100 mS, 200 mS, 800 mS and auto

Compressor Section
  • Compress: on/off
  • Ratio: 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 6:1
  • Release: 400 mS, 800 mS, 1.5 seconds and auto
  • DeEsser: on/off
