This item is backordered by the manufacturer.
This adapter ring fits the Lee 4" (100mm) filter holders. This adapter ring places the filter holder somewhat closer to the lens than the standard adapter ring. This is necessary for certain wide angle lenses to avoid vignetting.

Comments about LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 77mm - for Wide Angle Lenses:
Lee adapter rings seem to come in three varieties. A)Some sort of odd plastic which has been milled by a blind man and won't fit. B)Metal (aluminum?) but not wide angle. This appears to be rings over a certain size which leave the plastic ones too thin to be sturdy. C)Wide angle which are all metal and, with one caveat, are the ones to buy and use. The only problem with the wide angle is that they won't accept a clip-on lens cap of the same size as A & B do.
For instance, I had a 77mm metal, non-wide angle ring which (together with the filter holder and wide-angle shade) vignetted shorter than about 50mm on my 24-105 zoom; the 77mm wide angle ring shows no vignetting till about 30mm.
So why use, other than to save a little money, anything but wide angle rings and risk more vignetting and a ring that won't fit other Lee attachments?

Comments about LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 77mm - for Wide Angle Lenses:
I initially bought another brand adapter rings and holder and was dissapointed to know that the holder did not rotate. I then changed to the Lee adapter rings and holder and am so glad I did. I know can rotate my circular polarizer filter without problems. They are both made very well and I would buy this again if I have to.

This item is well made and fits the foundation kit perfectly. The reason I give it 4 stars is because of the price. It is just an adapter ring!!!

Comments about LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 77mm - for Wide Angle Lenses:
This is a must. I use it on my 17-40mm without any vignette. It is a little tricky to get on the lens because of the inset threads but it does what it is advertised to do. I also wish it wasn't so expensive xompared to the regular adapter rings. For these reasons I gave it a four star

Comments about LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 77mm - for Wide Angle Lenses:
I bought this product to fit my Canon 24-105mm L series, which it does well. I made the mistake of ordering the 100mm version of the filter holder that tightens onto larger lenses, which i subsequently returned and received a full refund. This holder system is great, my only complaints are the fact that there are no threads in the adapter ring to screw in a polarizer. I have a B&W thin circular polarizer that doesn't have a thread on the outside to receive this adapter, so it would be useful to have threads on the ring itself. Also if you use a protector screw-on(UV or Polarizer) you must be careful not to tighten it too much otherwise the filter will remain inside the adapter ring when you remove it.

Comments about LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 77mm - for Wide Angle Lenses:
This adapter along with the foundation kit solve the problem of how to install and un-install filters quickly and easily even when using lenses as wide as 17mm (full frame) without any vignetting at all!!. The design is very clever and allows for the first filter slot to be very close to the lens.
