The Defender 8-Channel DVR with 8 High-Resolution Security Cameras comes complete with 8 outdoor night vision cameras, a 500 GB hard drive, extra-tough vandal-resistant mounts, and all the necessary cables, mounts, and power supplies required for installation.
H.264 compression technology in the 8-channel DVR allows you to save on storage space while also minimizing the bandwidth requirement for operations. The DVR features a pre-installed 500 GB hard drive, which can be further extended up to 1 TB. Multiple recording modes like continuous, scheduled, motion detection, etc. allow you to easily configure your security system to record based on your requirements. You can quickly search through the entire database for a specific video clip with date, time, or occurrence of a particular event as your search parameters.
Each weather-resistant color camera included in the package features a 1/4" CMOS sensor and is designed to record clear and crisp images up to 480 TVL. These cameras can be used to monitor areas up to 100' (30.48 m) in the absence of light, making them suitable for round-the-clock surveillance. Each camera features 24 IR LEDs that activate automatically when the ambient light drops below a certain level. Its professional grade aluminum housing features a sunshield, making the camera suitable for outdoor applications.
This security system allows you to connect a TV or monitor for supervising via a VGA output port. You can also customize your display as per your convenience. Remote viewing of live video feeds is also possible via a compatible Web browser. You can even watch recorded videos on your iPhone and BlackBerry smartphone to keep an eye on your premises when you’re away. Password protection adds a layer of security preventing access to unauthorized users.
The 8-Channel Smart Security DVR alerts you in case of any suspicious activity via email. It will also alert you in case your memory space is full so that you can take preventive measures to avoid system downtime. You can choose to overwrite the data or take backup via the USB port on a portable drive. A built-in USB port allows you to connect a flash drive or a CD/DVD burner for quick and easy backup of video clips. You can control the DVR via the supplied mouse, IR remote control, or via PTZ protocols.
