Server Class Hard Drives

The hard drives are used to ensure higher reliability and performance. These drives are designed to handle rotational vibration and continuous operation for mission critical applications. They are ideal for video surveillance applications. The 4-drive disk pack enables expansion to 8 or 12 drive configurations.

Expandability

You can add storage capacity by simply adding drives in the unpopulated drive bays. Added drives can be brought into an existing storage pool or made into a new storage pool. Additionally, USB connected hard disk drives can be attached and used as shares. The StorCenter px12-350r supports read and write on Fat32, NTFS or ext2/ext3 formatted hard disks and read only for external HFS+ formatted drives.

RAID Support

The StorCenter px12-350r features RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 6 and JBOD with hot-spare, automatic RAID rebuild and hot-swap capabilities.

SSD Support

The px12-350r can be fitted with solid state drives to boost performance for I/O intensive applications.

Storage Pools

The storage pools group drives of like size and RAID protection together to simplify management. You can optimize block storage performance with dedicated iSCSI storage pools.

iSCSI

iSCSI target provides block-level access for efficient storage utilization for backup, database and email application performance. It can be used in parallel with file-level storage access via CIFS/NFS. It also includes support for SCSI-3 persistent reservations.

Data Replication / Device to Device Data Copy Jobs

-A predetermined schedule is used to process jobs.

Application Manager

You can use the embedded application manager to install third party applications as well.

Data Organization and Access

Windows DFS organizes folders and files on a network, such that they appear to be all in one directory tree on a single Iomega StorCenter system, even if the folders reside on many devices in different locations. Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) enables viewing, adding or deleting files on a StorCenter from the web, via HTTP or HTTPS for added security.
