Handy but could be better made to remain on the camera. The internal clip mounts are plastic and break too easily. This is my second one in the past year. Costs too much for being plastic! If a sturdier one were available, I'd buy it before this one.

This is an absurdly necessary piece of equipment that can reduce your expensive camera to a cumbersome hulk if it gets lost.

Bringing your Mark II up to your face without the piece on is kind of like caressing a brick. There's no standoff between your eye and the viewfinder. You wind up smashing your face against the camera to view the data, see the meter and adjust the focal point. This piece helps that a lot.

That said, there's no reason this piece cost as much as it does and is so easily detached and lost. It is a piece of hard plastic surrounded by softer plastic. It is held on to to camera only by two small clips. For the price, it should be attached more securely or at least come with more than one per package.

Hmmmm, what do I say about an eyecup? Yes, this is the Canon OEM eyecup. Yes, it fit my EOS-1Ds (and it fits my EOS-1v, and my EOS-1 too).

I love these, much softer than others and stays on just fine with a small piece of gaffer tape. Makes shooting with my 1D2n much more comfortable. Highly recommend. Yes, they're a bit pricey, but worth it.

I am a pro photographer. In taking my camera in and out of the bag I broke the eye cup off my Canon Mark 2. I ordered what I thought was the right eye-cup from another on-line retailer and was shipped the wrong item after a 2 week delay. I was then told the right item was out of stock. I logged on to B&H, found the right part, ordered it [...] Perfect fit! i recommend B&H to all my photographers. Great job! I will use B&H in the future for my camera needs.

This is the replacement eyecup to buy for a Canon 1D Mark II. B&H is one of the few places I found that had any since it is an old model.
