International Orders*The Ikelite 6039.24 Underwater Housing for Sony HDR-XR260 Camcorder is a waterproof case enabling you to shoot beneath the water's surface with your Sony HDR-XR260 Camcorder. It has a depth rating of 200' (60 m).
The housing provides access to all essential camcorder functions, including Power on/off, Record start/stop, Auto white balance, Manual white balance, Zoom, Mode button, and Snapshot, via mechanical controls. You can perform a custom white balance simply by pushing a single button located on the rear of the housing, without scrolling through a menu. This makes it easy to get natural colors at relatively shallow depths up to about 50' (15.2 m). For greater depths, the auto white balance function is recommended.
The case is constructed from durable polycarbonate, which is clear to enable you to monitor the O-ring seal. Housing buoyancy is nearly neutral in freshwater.
You can attach optional 67mm macro lenses to the housing's lens port, which has a 67mm thread diameter. You may also use the following optional internal wide-angle lenses: Raynox DCR-730, DCR-731 and HDS-680. These require the 9306 Dome Port or 9306.1 Flat Port (not included). Macro lenses will enable extreme close-up shots, while wide-angle lenses increase your angle of coverage, allowing you to get close to your subject while fitting more in the frame. Both types of lenses cut down on distortion caused by the water, thus improving image quality.
To restore colors that get absorbed underwater, you can use external color correction filters for blue or green water. The 6441.41 UR/Pro blue water filter is included with the housing, while the 6441.81 green water filter is optional.
The optional PRO-2800 LED video light produces a brightness of 2800 lumens with a natural, daylight-balanced color temperature. It doubles as a focus light for macro photography.
Included with the housing is an aluminum tray and handles with comfortable, ergonomic, angled grips. These allow for easier handling underwater.
