The Sony Alpha SLT-A77 DSLR Camera with 18-135mm Lens and Battery Grip Kit
contains the A77 digital camera and wide-angle to telephoto zoom lens along with a vertical battery grip for increased battery life as well as a more ergonomic means for shooting in the vertical orientation. The grip integrates a wide array of camera controls within its design, including a secondary shutter release button, selector dial, AE/AF controls, and function buttons for more effective handling while shooting vertically. Additionally, a microfiber cleaning cloth is included for cleaning and maintaining dust and oil-free LCD and lens surfaces.
The A77 features a 24.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and BIONZ image processor to produce high-resolution still imagery and full HD 1080i/p video at both 24 and 60 fps. Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology is utilized within the camera to provide continuous phase-detection auto focusing capabilities as well as quick shooting performance, including the ability to shoot up to 12 fps in full resolution. Live view monitoring, image playback, and menu navigation can be done on either the XGA OLED Tru-Finder 2,359k-dot EVF or the 3.0" 921.6k-dot LCD monitor, which features a three-way tilting design to promote easier viewing from high and low angles. A range of imaging modes are also available to help produce more refined images in-camera, including Auto HDR, Handheld Twilight, and Multi-Frame NR modes.
The included DT 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 27-202.5mm, covering a wide range of perspectives to suit working in an array of shooting conditions. The lens' design integrates a Direct Manual Focus mechanism to allow for the near instant switching between AF and MF focusing modes without having to remove your eye from the viewfinder and a Smooth Autofocus Motor maintains quick and quiet AF performance that is well-suited to HD video recording. Additionally, one extra-low dispersion element and two aspherical elements are incorporated into the optical design to help minimize chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range and also contribute to higher image sharpness and clarity.
