This is a Dynalite RH1050 Road Series Mini Flash Head. The RH1050 is a 1000 watt/second, convection-cooled economical, minimum weight flash head. It has a built in recessed reflector with 140° coverage and no hot-spot for even light dispersion. The high reflectivity design provides for greater efficiency in softboxes and light panels.
As the pioneer in compact studio and location lighting, Dynalite was the originator of the wide angle "built in reflector" design which offers ease of use with umbrellas. Every Dynalite flash tube is hand mounted in its user replaceable shock absorbing reflector assembly and tested for flash consistency, power output and color temperature accuracy.
Optional attachments are available to alter the intensity and shape of the light emitted from this head. A power supply for this flash head is required.

Comments about Dynalite RH1050 Road Series 1000 Watt/Second Mini Flash Head:
I have used Dynalite equipment for over 15 years now. I have been upgrading my old 1020 coffee can dynalites with the fan cooled versions (2050). I had one (1020) just die on me after 15 years and the flashtube is still good!I use the non-cooled ones as backup. My equipment seems to die when BHPHOTO is closed. LOL.
My only disappointment is the fact that the 16' ft cable is attached. This will make it a bit harder to pack. I prefer the plug-in cords. Then again this is just a second backup unit.

Comments about Dynalite RH1050 Road Series 1000 Watt/Second Mini Flash Head:
I ordered this extra flash head to have a total of three strobes for shoots. I found it necessary to have a third light to overexpose a white backdrop and light a subject at the same time.
I'm concerned about the strobe overheating as it isn't fan-cooled, but I haven't run into any problems yet, and it's a great price.

Comments about Dynalite RH1050 Road Series 1000 Watt/Second Mini Flash Head:
This head is the smallest and lightest for Dynalite series, and so it is most useful when not a lot of power is needed but you want to place the light in a tricky location. It allows you to use lighter weight boom stand with smaller counterweight, for example. Another advantage of this head is that there is no fan cooling. If silence is golden, this may work better.
