The 10x42 Ranger ED Binocular from Eagle Optics combines high-quality glass and a lightweight durable housing to make an optic that is well worth its price. Whether you are a novice bird watcher, seasoned theatre patron, or demanding hunter, the 10x42 has your task covered. Extra-low dispersion glass transmits bright images with enhanced clarity and detail. Multicoated elements and phase-corrected roof prisms render rich contrast and color fidelity throughout the entire focus range. The argon purged and o-ring sealed housing is waterproof and fogproof, and a rubber armored exterior provides maximum weather resistance and light shock absorption. A finely textured center focus wheel, twist-up rubber eyecups, and optional tripod adapter make the 10x42 configuration of the Ranger ED a full-featured binocular for mid-range glassing in the field.
- Extra-Low Dispersion Glass
- Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements mean enhanced image quality. These elements are engineered to minimize chromatic aberration and maximize detail by efficiently transmitting most wavelengths of visible light. This translates into lifelike colors and well-defined edges of in-focus subjects.
- Fully Multicoated Optics
- These coatings effectively eliminate reflections throughout the optical channel, delivering high contrast and superb clarity. Dielectric-coated BK-4 roof prisms are phase corrected and optimize light transmission, delivering impressive brightness throughout the focus range.
- SeeClear Lens Coating
- Eagle Optics coats the objectives and oculars with their proprietary SeeClear polymer coating that prevents water and oil from adhering to lens surfaces. This preserves image quality even when lens surfaces have become wet or dirty.
- Open-Hinge Design
- Made of a lightweight yet durable polycarbonate material, the open-hinge body enables ergonomic access to the center focus wheel and fine-tuned weight distribution from front to back. Additionally, a rubber armored exterior provides a non-slip grip that is especially useful in wet or cold conditions.
- Weatherproof Construction
- Argon purged and o-ring sealed housing delivers waterproof and fogproof construction, ensuring that this binocular can withstand driving rain and extreme humidity.
