In a sturdy 3RU half-rack housing, the 4 TB Pro-Cache5 LTO Archive Appliance from Cache-A is a powerful, versatile solution for saving and archiving your data. Well-suited for digital media professionals who work with large video or image files and transfer large amounts of data, this unit features internal hard disk storage of 4 TB that can be configured in a RAID 0 or 1. It also utilizes a quad-core processor and 4 GB of RAM. This built-in hardware allows you to organize your content, stage items for archiving or even use the Pro-Cache5 for general Network Attached Storage (NAS) applications. Plus, this unit holds and includes an LTO-5 tape with a native capacity of 1.5 TB. It is directly accessible, "tar" compatible with any LTO-5 data tape-drive and features an archival life of 30 years. When using LTO-5 tapes, it allows you to archive data across multiple tapes, schedule automated archive times and search content on your tapes.
Designed to be flexible, this archive appliance can connect to your network via one of the two Gb Ethernet ports. It can work with a multitude of file systems, whether your computer is running UNIX, Linux, Windows or Mac operating systems. When connected to your network, it supports FTP, Samba, NFS, AFP and Bonjour servers.
For attaching additional devices, especially external storage, it features USB, eSATA and SAS connections. It also features an ExpressCard 34 slot that offers expansion options, such as a FireWire 800 card. You can manage this unit via a convenient web-based interface. However, you can also directly monitor the unit and review its content as it includes a VGA monitor port, a 9-Pin serial port as well as PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports. If you seriously need to store, organize and archive your video data, this beast of an archive appliance gives you all the power and versatility to do so.
