The 8 TB DriveStation Duo USB 3.0 Hard Drive RAID Array from Buffalo provides an exceptional storage and backup solution for small servers, creative professionals, offices and consumers who need redundant and high performance external storage.
With RAID 0 and RAID 1 support, it offers flexible capacity and redundant configurations. The hard drives can also remain independent of one another with a JBOD configuration. Moreover, USB 3.0 support and backward compatibility with USB 2.0 enables this hard drive array to work with almost any PC or Mac computer and provides interface speeds up to 5 Gbps*. The DriveStation Duo Hard Drive RAID Array is equipped with NovaBACKUP Business Essentials software, Buffalo Tools software suite and TurboPC Utility software, thus making it an exceptional storage system.Note! *5 Gbps is max transfer rate derived from USB 3.0 specs & ExpressCard. - Safeguard your Data
- RAID redundancy offers a variety of ways to protect your data such as RAID 0 and RAID 1. RAID 0 combines both drives into a single array offering maximum storage capacity with no redundancy. RAID 1 offers maximum redundancy by mirroring both drives. Data is automatically duplicated, so that if one drive fails, the data is kept safe on the other. Buffalo recommends RAID 1 for all devices using two hard drives.

- The hard drive array uses Buffalo Tools, a feature-rich suite of software to enhance PC and transfer performance and to back up your important digital assets. Any or all of the following components of Buffalo Tools can be installed on Windows PCs. •Buffalo's Backup Utility is an easy-to-use and fully featured backup software for Windows PCs. It can be used to back up one or multiple computers with a single Buffalo external hard drive. •ECO Manager is an energy efficiency tool used to conserve energy and battery consumption. It allows you to regulate power usage of the hard drive by reducing power to the drive during extended periods of inactivity. •RAMDISK is a simple utility that allows you to create a RAM disk on your Windows PC. It creates a small, but extremely fast environment to work on files. •SecureLock software for Windows provides complete control of data encryption on your Buffalo external hard drive, providing password protection and software data encryption.

- The DriveStation Duo Hard Drive RAID Array comes with one license of NovaBACKUP Business Essentials, an easy-to-use, complete backup solution for Windows PCs, Windows Servers and SQL / Exchange Databases. It allows you to restore any file, from a single view, regardless of when or where the files were backed up. It also provides local and online backup with free and premium off-site backup capabilities. Integration of online storage services enables reliable compatibility. Disk imaging disaster recovery allows complete system imaging and complete system restore in a couple of hours instead of days. Additionally, bare metal restore allows for quick reconstruction on a blank system.
