The DX4860-UR308 Desktop Computer from Gateway may be smaller than many other desktop PCs but it packs a punch. The DX4860-UR308 comes equipped with a dual-core Intel Core i3-2100 processor running Windows 8 at 3.10 GHz. With 6GB of DDR3 SDRAM you can run multiple applications simultaneously with ease. If 6GB of RAM isn't sufficient, you can upgrade your RAM to 16GB by utilizing all four memory slots.
Storage is key in desktop computers, and the DX4860-UR308 comes with a 1TB SATA hard drive running at 7200 RPMs. You can also take advantage of the integrated memory card slot compatible with MultiMediaCard (MMC), RS-MMC, Secure Digital (SD) Card, xD-Picture Card, Mini Secure Digital (miniSD), Micro Drive, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick, MMCmobile, CompactFlash (CF) Card, CF+ and Memory Stick PRO for easy transfer of data from devices such as digital cameras and smartphones.
Windows 8 is the installed operating system. Windows 8 replaces the traditional Start menu with a redesigned Start screen. The Start screen features tiles that update in real-time, which provide faster access to news, weather forecasts, sports scores, social network updates and more. Windows 8 also focuses more on cloud storage as well as apps, which can be downloaded from the Windows Store. Windows 8 provides a unique user experience.
Connect the DX4860-UR308 to a variety of displays from analog to digital monitors and high definition TVs with 1 x VGA port and 1 x HDMI port. You can also take advantage of the 10 x USB 2.0 ports giving you virtually endless possibilities when connecting peripherals. Listen to your music and chat with friends online with 1 x headphone port and 1 x microphone port.
- The Intel Core i3-2100 dual-core processor found within the DX4860-UR308 provides increased processing power while helping extend battery life, increasing data speeds, and enhance your video experience.
- With 6GB of DDR3 SDRAM you get have the memory needed to run multiple programs simultaneously. If 6GB isn't enough you can take advantage of the extra memory slot allowing you to upgrade to 16GB of RAM.
- Saving a variety of files such as movies, videos, music and documents is simple with the 1TB hard drive found within the DX4860-UR308. This drive spins at 7200 RPMs allowing for quick access to all of your files.
- Connect your computer to a variety of display options with both HDMI and VGA connectivity. You can also take advantage of 10 USB 2.0 ports as well as an RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet connection and audio in/out ports.

Windows 8 introduces a new Start screen, which has all the information you need in one place. The traditional Windows desktop screen has been replaced with a more tablet style design featuring tiles. These tiles are customizable to your liking as well as update in real time. News, weather forecasts, sports, contacts, apps and more are available for you to use. It's all right there on the Start screen. If you prefer the traditional Start screen of Windows 7, you have the option to switch to it
To the Cloud
With Windows 8, when signed in using your Microsoft account, you'll have instant access to your personal Start screen, themes, language preferences, browsing history and browser favorites. You can also connect to services such as Microsoft Outlook, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and more
Windows Store
In the Windows Store you can search for or browse thousands of apps. Choose from the featured apps or grab one of the most frequently downloaded apps to see what all the hype is all about. You can also see how other people rate apps. For certain apps, you can try it out before you buy it so you can make sure you absolutely want an app before you spend your hard-earned money on it
