The Marani DFP-212 Feedback Eliminator is a device that uses dynamic band scanning and the placement of real time high precision notch filters to cancel audio feedback. The unit analyzes the signal, determines which frequencies are causing feedback, and uses 12 notch filters per channel in 15 adjustable sensitivity steps to remove the feedback by up to -45 dB.
The settings of the notch filters are temporarily stored in RAM memory, but must be saved to one of 16 available user presets or be lost when the unit is turned off. The unit also includes 4 factory presets, and an analog bypass circuit for easily removing it from the signal chain.
The device operates in dual channel or mono mode, accepts line level and microphone inputs, and uses balanced XLR and balanced 1/4" TRS connectors for both channels of the input and output. The device is housed in a 1-rack unit chassis. External control is available over USB with a computer, and the feedback presets can be selected via standard MIDI.
