The white TMR-50 Tuner Metronome Recorder by Korg features the functionality of a wide-range tuner, an interactive metronome and a portable digital recorder, all in one pocket-sized practice tool. It's capable of recording up to 100 tracks of mono Linear PCM audio at 16-bit/44.1kHz resolution. The TMR-50 can even export recorded files to your computer via an onboard mini USB port. Additionally, the tuner, metronome, and recorder can be used simultaneously for even more effective training.

Tuner

The TMR-50 meter display method allows the pitch to be accurately and instantly shown without any time lag. Wind players will no longer experience the problem of their pitch changing before it can be displayed accurately.

The TMR-50's tuning detection range is wide, extending from C1 to C8, which covers the range of most instruments. The built-in high-sensitivity mic also allows accurate tuning of acoustic instruments such as guitar and ukulele.

Metronome

15 types of rhythms are built in, including time signature numerators from 0 through 9, duplets, triplets, triplets without the center beat, quadruplets, and quadruplets without the center beats. The TMR-50 has a wide tempo range of 30-252 beats per minute. The volume can also be adjusted, so you'll be able to use the metronome in any situation from personal practice in a small room to rehearsals in a studio.

Recorder

The TMR-50 features Linear PCM recording and playback. It has a built-in mic, speaker and is able to automatically optimize the recording level as appropriate for the source volume. The onboard USB port allows connection to your computer, so if the recording memory fills up, you can relocate your data without losing it.

You can record with a metronome pre-count, record a "tempo sync track," or activate the tuner during playback to check your pitch. Also, the integrated Loop Play function will play a specified region of the recorded data repeatedly for closer examination.

Additional Features

Sound Out: Reference Tones
The Sound Out function produces a reference tone from the TMR-50's internal speaker or headphones. You can specify the reference tone in a three-octave range from C3 to C6, which covers a wide variety of instruments.
Sound Back: Nearest Reference Tone
The TMR-50 can detect and inform you of pitch discrepancies, also it serves as a tool to help you hear and produce the correct pitch. As the tuner detects pitch, it sounds the nearest reference tone while the meter shows the difference. The pitch is indicated in both visual and audible form, training your sense of pitch.
Beyond Equal Temperament
Incorrect pitch is particularly noticeable for harmonic intervals of a third, yet by slightly skewing the equal-tempered pitch, you can obtain a more pure-sounding harmony. The meter scale of the TMR-50 provides marks that indicate pure major and minor thirds relative to a given pitch. This is convenient for wind instruments, as well as vocal or a cappella practice.
Two Types of Tempo Step Pattern
When setting the tempo, you can choose either "pendulum steps" where the tempo will increment or decrement in the same numerical steps as on a mechanical metronome, or "full steps" which allows you to specify any tempo between 30 and 252 in one-step increments. In addition, you can also use the tap tempo input to specify the desired tempo simply by pressing a switch in time with the beat.
Enhanced Visibility
The large LCD display has a backlight that lets you adjust the brightness in two levels. This ensures excellent visibility, even when you're performing on a dim stage or in an orchestra pit.
Memory Backup and Auto Power-Off
When you turn off the power, the TMR-50 will remember the tempo, beat, rhythm, calibration, and reference tone settings you last specified. The Auto Power-Off feature will power the TMR-50 down after twenty minutes without any sound input.
