Sea & Sea YS-01 Universal Lighting Package

The YS-01 Universal Lighting Package from Sea & Sea provides you with a strobe head and accessories, arm, mask set and fiber optic cable. The products are arranged in a precut foam insert and a soft carry bag.

The #SS-03112 YS-01 Strobe Head is a compact slave strobe that can be used for wide-angle or macro photography. With its circular beam angle of 100 x 100° (110° x 110° with included diffuser) and a guide number of up to 20, it is ideal for small point-and-shoot or DSLR cameras. The DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) feature gives you automatic exposure control when shooting in slave mode. It is best to connect the strobe to the housing with a fiber optic cable.

For finer lighting control, it is recommended that you shoot in manual mode, which is easy since the YS-01 has a ten-level power dial located on the back. The strobe has a depth rating of 250' (76.2 m). It will help restore your subject's natural colors, which are often lost underwater due to the ocean's acting as a blue filter. The YS-01 has a color temperature of 5600K, or 5250K with the supplied diffuser. It also features an LED target light.

The #SS-22124 Sea Arm VII Compact is a universal arm designed for compact digital camera systems. Plastic resin construction prevents electric corrosion and makes the arm durable. The ball joint design allows firm tightening and smooth loosening, and a tight grip at each joint makes arm position secure. The Sea Arm VII Compact consists of a Head SS, Double ball M, camera base, ball base and two ball joint sets. Its total length is 18" (45.7 cm).

This kit includes the #SS-50107 Fiber Optic L-Type Sync Cable, which used to connect the built-in sensor on a Sea & Sea flash to a Sea & Sea housing with optical cable port. When the camera's internal flash fires the cable will fire the external flash. The L shaped connectors resist bending and have improved light-conducting efficiency.

Use the #SS-50109 Strobe Mask Set to attach the Sea & Sea Fiber Optic Cable to many manufacturers' underwater housings. The mask blocks the on-camera flash from exposing your subject, which prevents backscatter. The grommet allows the cable to be attached in front of the on-camera flash so the light will trigger your external strobe.

Also supplied is the #SS-BAG soft camera bag with foam has both a padded shoulder strap and top carry handle, as well as dual zippers to open and close the main compartment. There is a front exterior pocket for additional storage.
