Comments about Hama 55mm Screw-In Rubber Zoom Lens Hood for 24 to 210mm Lenses:
If you believe in lens hoods (and any serious photographer should) and use a mid-range zoom lens, you need an adjustable hood. This one! It can go from flat (for storage) to wide-angle (pull out) to tele (unfold the double layer to make it longer).Do yourself a favor and spare yourself the ordeal I went through, getting a cheap one first, returning it, then getting a more expensive but still cheap one, returning it, then basically biting the bullet to spend [$] for this probably $2 item, but it is so worth it, if you believe in using a proper hood. Be aware that the integrated (female) filter thread is wider than the (male) thread that screws into your lens. In this case, they are 58 and 55mm. The benefit of this is less vignetting.

Comments about Hama 55mm Screw-In Rubber Zoom Lens Hood for 24 to 210mm Lenses:
Forget the cheapies, you get what you pay for. This is the fourth hood I bought for my 18-70mm zoom[...]This hood has four stages:1. reversed. It covers the lens belly, folded backwards. 2. flat. When not in use3. wide angle. This keeps the outer layer still folded in, to cover a wide angle.4. All out. There is a double layer, when folded out, it extends to cover the tele range. This feature is what differentiates it from all the others.Besides, you can tell that it is not a [*]. It is made in Japan, and the quality difference screams at you. If you need to cover this focal range, spend the money and get the last hood first. You will not regret it.
