The iOptron MiniTower Pro Dual AltAz Telescope Mount enables you to mount 2 scopes with more pay load and track objects with its 6 times finer encoder resolution. It also features a 2” stainless-steel tripod for easier viewing with large scopes.
With all components (excluding the tripod) packaged in an alloy metal case, the MiniTower Pro telescope mount can easily be carried around in a car trunk or as an airline luggage. It combines portability with an internal GPS to give amateur astronomers flexibility in selecting an observing location. This mount is equipped with the SmartStar GoTo technology, which makes it powerful and accurate. With a typical GoTo accuracy of 1 arc minute and the SmartStar precision auto-tracking, it consistently brings the celestial object of your choice to the center of the eye-piece and keeps tracking for hours. It features a USB cable, which allows you to download firmware and database upgrades as well as to control your telescope via a computer.
Being powered with other features such as automatic over-current protection, automatic clutch protection for axes, easy 3-point level adjustment, dual scope setup with 2 dovetails and much more, the MiniTower Pro is a user-friendly GoTo mount. It also features a 120mm long heavy duty dovetail plate. With the car re-charger and cable, you can connect this mount to the car cigarette lighter output with ease.
The MiniTower Pro features the standard GoToNova 8401 hand controller, which boasts iOptron’s GoToNova computerized control. With a database of over 130,000 celestial objects and 128 user-defined objects, this controller enables you to search the skies with ease. Using the easy-to-use 8401 Hand Controller and its large 8-line LCD screen, you can easily set up the telescope and select where you want to go with its user-friendly interface. This controller also allows you to slew the telescope at 9 different drive speeds, keeping the object within the telescope’s viewfinder for as long as you wish. It also makes alignment quick and simple, and even comes standard with GPS. This hand controller also includes a USB port for connection with a computer for firmware upgrade or use with planetarium software. The GoToNova controller features a 6P4C controller cable that connects it to the MiniTower Pro mount.
The MiniTower Pro also comes with a 1.25” eyepiece set comprising of a 10 and 25mm PL eyepiece. It also includes a 1.25A AC adapter that is suitable for all iOptron computerized telescope systems.
