Overview
  • 1Description

The Equinox HD10 High Definition Underwater Video Housing for Sony HXR-NX30/30U/30P Camcorder is a waterproof case custom-made for your Sony HXR-NX30/30U/30P palm-size NXCAM HD camcorder. It enables you to shoot beneath the surface to a maximum depth of 200'. The housing has near-neutral buoyancy at approximately 33'.

The housing provides access to essential camera functions, including Power on / off, Record start / stop, Auto focus, Manual focus gear, Iris, Iris gear, Auto/manual switch, Zoom, ND filter, White Balance and LCD power on/off via mechanical controls. It's constructed from a durable, thermal-based polyvinyl carbonate, and is equipped with an integrated dome lens port. The port is compatible with optional wide-angle lenses, which enable you to get close to your subject and fit more in the frame, while cutting down on distortion and improving contrast and color. As an added bonus, a 2.5" color LCD monitor is also supplied.

The BRS / Ballast Release System serves a dual purpose: Easy travel and fast transport to the surface, should you run into trouble during your underwater video adventure. Simply pull on the quick release pin on one of the wings and the wing and ballast/handle are released; the housing now becomes positive in buoyancy and shoots to the surface.

The included EO bulkhead provides a video feed to the surface via an 18" (45.7 cm) cable with a male inline connector, to allow for topside viewing.

The optional tripod mount #TPM (B&H #EQTPM) (not included) is available, and has a 1/4"-20 thread.

Construction
Crafted from a durable, thermal-based polyvinyl carbonate. BRS / Ballast Release System serves two purposes: easy travel and fast transport to the surface, should you run into trouble during your underwater video adventure. Simply pull on the quick release pin on one of the wings and the wing and ballast/handle are released; the housing now becomes positive in buoyancy and shoots to the surface. Additionally, rubber feet offer stability, even on a rocking boat, and a D-ring on the rear plate allows for easy attachment to a lanyard
Lens Port
Equipped with an integrated dome port that accommodates many wide-angle conversion lenses (sold separately), which enable you to get close to your subject and fit more in the frame, while correcting for distortion and improving contrast and color
Included EO Bulkhead
The supplied EO bulkhead provides a video feed to the surface via an 18" (45.7 cm) cable with a male inline connector, to allow for topside viewing
Mounting
Sliding tray camera mounting system makes for easy insertion and removal. Optional tripod mount #TPM (B&H #EQTPM) (not included) has a 1/4"-20 thread
