The Optex HX-80NAM High-Mount Outdoor Curtain PIR Detector is an 80 x 6', high-mount outdoor passive infrared detector that provides the stability and reliability necessary for an outdoor PIR sensor. The most important element in this reliable outdoor detector is its accuracy to distinguish a human from a small animal. The exclusive pyro element on board enables the HX detector to project an ideal detection pattern, thus allowing for more accurate detection of humans and less false alarms. In addition, the HX-80NAM's dual PIRs and 20 detection zones utilize the 'AND' detection pattern technology—upper and lower detection areas have to be activated in order to generate an alarm condition. This technology helps prevent false alarms caused by a pet or small animal. The detector’s range can be limited to avoid unwanted detection, and its short range zones can be masked if needed. By limiting the detection range, undesired false alarms due to harmless movement (cars, persons, or animals outside the protected area) can be eliminated.
The HX-80NAM also features Digital Anti-Masking. When an object is placed close to the lens surface for a period of more than 180 seconds, the IR Anti-Masking circuit will activate and generate a trouble signal. Moreover, via Vegetation Sway Analysis logic, the HX PIR detector monitors wave changes at all the times and automatically cancels the signal caused by swaying grass when it determines the increase of this distinctive wave changes.
In addition, the outdoor curtain detector is effective for severe environmental conditions such as summer evening and nights. The HX series PIR detector addresses this issue via the additional measurement of luminance levels as the environment changes and allows sensitivity to automatically sharpen when the environmental conditions require it. Further, the coverage of the detector can be adjusted by means of built-in flaps and plates.
